Why is conversion so fast, even for terabyte-scale VMs?
ZeroShift's conversion engine is designed so that time-to-complete is governed by the disk's structure rather than its size. The result is near-constant conversion time across VMs of any scale, terabyte workloads finish in the same window as small ones.
What happens if the conversion fails partway through?
Nothing bad. Every conversion is fully atomic, either it completes successfully, or it doesn't apply at all. On failure, the original VMDK is left completely intact and the VM can be brought back online immediately with no manual recovery.
Can I migrate VMs that are currently running (live VMs)?
No. ZeroShift requires the VM to be powered off before conversion. Because the conversion itself takes only seconds, the outage window is extremely short, far shorter than traditional migrations.
How do I batch-migrate an entire VMware cluster?
